If you thought the videos looked great, the experience is 100 times beyond. If you wondered what life was like 50 years ago, living in beautiful open land, incredible horses , neighbors like family then you have found your place. Dax and Kylie are two of the hardest working people I’ve seen. They make it look easy but they have the best team! Bodie, Shea , Stetson and Cooper took such good care of us! I can’t neglect their beautiful little kids who greet you after your ride with homemade goodies and are running around and playing! The kindness will overwhelm you a bit but it is reflected in the care of their horses, the ranch , the land and all of their guests. Tips: You need to be very comfortable riding- you will be long trotting and cantering for miles in a day- up, down and across terrain. The horses are amazing, but you need to know how to ride- especially with the all-out gallops too! I can only speak for the women- some got a little “saddle sore” . Bike shorts with pads under your jeans or I wore “Thigh Society” cool shorts. I also ordered sun protectant long sleeve shirts from Ariat. (Amazon has some too) They weren’t very expensive but were great and not hot in the hot sun! Pack light- no one cares what you’re wearing. T-shirt’s, shirts, a couple pairs of jeans, A set of comfy hangout clothes by the fire and lounging in your room. A jacket or fleece for night. You are at 7000 ft. PJs and sunscreen and sunglasses. Also, get the straps for your hat that hold it on. ( I don’t know what they are called but you can order from Amazon). These are a must. I had a great hat that was snug on my head and I needed that strap. Lastly-a great attitude and have fun. I met some amazing people from across the country! This was such an awesome experience. Just book it and before you know it, you’ll be there and wish you didn’t have to leave.
